Dr. Danilo Türk, Former President of Slovenia. Danilo Turk, graduate from Law School of Ljubljana University in Slovenia in 1975, is a senior politician, world renowned diplomat, jurist, and international expert. In 1992, he became the first Slovenia's ambassador to the United Nations, and worked as the United Nations Security Council Chairman two times. He served as UN assistant general secretary in 2000. In November 11th, 2007, he was elected president of the Republic of Slovenia. And in December 22nd, 2012, he stepped down. In 2016, he participated in the election of the Secretary General of the United Nations.
